ACCME Standards & Presentation Requirements
Presenting authors are required to adhere to the ACCME Standards specified below (click here for more information). Presentations may be reviewed by the MCW CME Activity Director:
-
Brand names must not be used if at all possible unless required to eliminate confusion about identical products. Presentations must give a balanced view of therapeutic options. Use of generic names will contribute to this impartiality. If the CME educational material or content includes trade names, where available trade names from several companies should be used, not just trade names from a single company.
-
The use of slides, handouts, or other material developed by pharmaceutical, or device manufacturers is prohibited.
2026 Tandem Meetings PowerPoint Template (Strongly Encouraged!)
Presenting authors are strongly encouraged to utilize the 2025 Tandem Meetings PowerPoint Template to create their oral abstract presentation.
PowerPoint Template
Permission for Using Copyrighted Materials (Required)
Authors are responsible for and must obtain written permission from the respective copyright owners for use and/or adaptation of copyrighted material in their presentation. Authors must correctly cite all materials used. Cartoons, images from movies or television programs, magazine articles, etc., must receive written permission from the respective copyright owners for utilization.
Handouts (REQUIRED FOR 2026)
A PDF handout of your oral abstract PowerPoint presentation is required for 2026. You must upload to the handout module in your Speaker Center so they can be posted to the online program prior to the start of the Tandem Meetings for attendee use. Please note that the Tandem Meetings will not provide attendees with a copy of your PowerPoint presentation. If you wish for attendees to access your slide deck, please save it as a PDF and upload it in the "Handouts" section. You may upload multiple documents into this module, if desired.
Adult Learning Principles (Optional)
Create an engaging presentation by weaving in adult learning principles:
-
Engagement with concepts increases information retention. Including succinct activities such as short discussions, asking the audience questions, and allowing the audience to share examples can lead to more engaging and meaningful learning experiences.
Accessibility Tips and Tricks (Optional)
Add closed captions for any video and audio elements.
